Strangely, this time American Idol has been run over by men. Female American Idol star Lil Rounds says that shouldn’t be a problem.

She added “I don’t want to just boggle myself down with the ratio of it” at a conference last week.

Though many of the contestants this year were selected by viewers, the truth is that there are 13 contestants this year, and eight of them are men while only five are women, which is interesting.

Rounds performed the Mary J. Blige hit “Be Without You” on the show. She believes that all the contestants have a fair chance, and hopes that the girls will be able to shine.

“I just feel like I have to out there and always continue to put my best foot forward, stay positive and go out there and do what I know how to do best–and that’s singing and performing. As long as we keep that in our minds to go out there and sing and enjoy ourselves like it’s our last time, I think we’re all going to do great.”
