Keri Hilson said that she tried her best to stop her controversial “Turnin’ Me Off” remix from being released. The song features a line “I shot the sheriff but wait till I shoot the bitches down” which created a stir. Talking to Atlanta’s V103, Keri said that “This is a true leak. I did fight this coming out.”

After a string of delays, Keri Hilson’s new album “In A Perfect World” is going to hit digital retailers and stores on March 24. She is supposedly unsure how the song leaked but has publicly announced that she had second thoughts about leaving how she was “feeling in that moment” in the song.
Keri said “I didn’t want it come out because we played it for people when I did it. The fact that they (people) brought back names was like ‘okay that’s not the reaction that we need,’ that’s not what it’s supposed to be about”.
When speaking to Ciara, when Keri said “it’s not about you, it’s not about nobody. It is about haters,” the producer, Polow Da Don, was in agreement that the song should not be released. However, Polow Da Don has been rumored to have leaked out like Usher’s “Yeah” in the past among his peers. Without naming anyone, Keri Hilson backed Polow Da Don when she said “I’m not jealous of anybody’s career. There have been many people, specifically girls.” “It’s anybody that tried to take me down and didn’t want to see me succeed.”
