According to Darren Julien, auctioneer, the cancellation of the scheduled three-day auction followed from an agreement with Jackson. The auction was an exhibition featuring select items will run through April 25.

“The auction isn’t going to take place. We wanted to reach an agreement and we have reached one today that is mutually acceptable and beneficial,” Julien told Reuters in an interview on Tuesday.

Jackson’s rep cum spokesman said that both sides are “pleased” with the contract which allows Jackson to retain ownership of his long time collection.

A crystal white glove from a performance of “Billie Jean” is among items which are still to be returned to the King of Pop.
