While his ex-girlfriend Rihanna is reportedly enjoying the Bahamas beach, embattled pop star Chris Brown is gearing up for a preliminary hearing on April 29.

Earlier this month, Brown appealed not guilty in a Los Angeles court to both felony assault and making criminal threat charges for beating Rihanna.

Following Brown’s not guilty plea, Rihanna’s father told US Weekly, “So what happened…. somebody else did this to Rihanna then?” Although Rihanna’s father is sounding too eager about Brown’s punishment, Rihanna’s attorney Donald Etra has said to press that the “Umbrella” star “would be pleased if it were over quickly.”

Brown and Rihanna, 21, appeared together at a pre-Grammy gathering on Feb. 7 and the sources are saying that the forthcoming trial will be focusing on the happenings of that party night. Both singers called off their appearances at the awards show on Feb. 8, when Brown was booked and released on $50,000 bail.

If Brown is found guilty of the felony charges, his sentence could be reportedly ranging from probation to four years and eight months in state prison, district attorney’s spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons has said recently.

It’s pity that a prospective star like Chris Brown is going through such felony charges in such a young age. It’s not only harmful for his personal life only but also for his career. I don’t know about Rihanna, but as the current situation is saying, Rihanna is getting more media coverage proving her an “innocent” girl.
