Singer and songwriter Kandi Burruss has been announced as officially being the newest cast member to join BRAVO’s hit reality show “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”!
Well known for her stint in the hit ’90s R&B band Xscape, rumor has it that Kandi will replace crew member Deshawn Snow on the show’s upcoming season.
Since it started in fall of 2008, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has averaged 1.3 million viewers for each episode, easily becoming BRAVO’s most successful TV show since their Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
In recent years, Kandi has become a well known songwriter. She was also one of the first few women to receive an ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award.
Kandi, who is the proud mother of a 6-year-old daughter, says that her life changed after winning the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award for her work in TLC’s hit album “Fanmail”. She adds that “I really grew up as a woman, realizing I can stand on my own and make things happen for myself.”
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” - The second season - is due to premiere in Fall 2009.
