A Refined Mandisa on “Freedom”

American idol diva, Mandisa is appearing in her own project “Freedom” which is going to be released very soon.

Essentially a follow up of her 2007 debut (which was also Christmas Holiday album), “Freedom” is featuring a more confident and polished Mandisa.

In an interview with Billboard, Mandisa says, “I’ve come into my own. I couldn’t tell everybody else that God could set them free and still deal with the same issues that had been plaguing me my entire life”. She adds, “The Lord was saying, ‘Ok, you are going to be an example of how I can set somebody free”

While commenting about losing 75 pounds in the last year, Mandisa declares, “I really believe food is a substance addiction like alcohol and drugs. I would turn to food in order to fill a void and I would turn to it for comfort”

However, “Freedom” is highly talked about as Mandisa’s most personal effort. “Freedom” is scheduled to knock the stores and digital stores on March 24, this year.
