Usher’s mom has played manager and handled her son’s career artfully for over 15 years but now she’s embroiled in a scandal.The R&B Superstars mom Jonnetta Patton is being investigated for allegations that she failed to pay a limousine driver for his services during the recently concluded BET Awards.
A freelance limo chauffeur working for an Atlanta, Georgia-based transportation company has accused the Star’s mom of failing to pay a sum of $1,668.
TMZ. Com reports that detectives of the DeKalb County are looking into the accusations filed by the limo driver who transported Patton’s group members in June during the BET Awards held in LA this year.
Oh come on - a scandal? Over an unpaid bill. Admittedly its a hefty bill, but the awards took place this June - and I bet plenty of stars take their good time to pay. Somehow the money will be found and the scandal will be over. But if it means all those homies out there remember to pay their bills on time then I guess it’s a good thing it’s brought to the publics attention.
Wherever there are stars there are scandals as well. She is such a successful woman. I don’t think that she could not afford that sum. There must have been some misunderstanding or the driver must be trying to grab the attention of the media and enjoy the limelight for a while.
If you are a celebrity, you cannot get away by doing something wrong. That is what we are noticing nowadays. In fact when a famous person makes a mistake, things are magnified, publicized and blown out of proportions. So, you have to be very careful. Life is not easy.
