Jennifer Hudson “Honoured & Humbled” by 4 Grammy Nominations
The recent past has been rocked by trials and tribulations for Jennifer Hudson but this week there’s an early present in her Christmas stocking which comes in the form of Four Grammy nominations.27 year old Hudson said she was “honoured” after being informed of her nominations and issuing a statement through Arista Records said “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing. I’m extremely honoured and humbled by the nominations.”
Hudson’s self titled debut album is nominated for R&B Album of the Year, and her performance on the song “Spotlight” has her in the running for both Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song. Her fourth nomination stems for her stellar performance on the duet “I’m His Only Woman” with Fantasia where they compete for the accolade of Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group.

Reviews of Jennifers album have been mixed with some reviewers praising her talent and expressive vocals, while others indicate that the album is a let-down and delivers nothing new. So I can’t help thinking that the 4 Grammy nominations are a sympathy vote after the Hudson family have had such a terrible year. But we’ll see.
Her duet with Fantasia on I’m His Only Woman is destined to become a classic for the sheer raw emotion in their two voices. Jennifer hasn’t been around long enough to flood the charts yet, but she definitely has the ability. I guess it depends how her life pans out and if she gets the promotion she deserves.
