RareSoulGrooves.com & Soul Music TV is the brainchild of a few friends in London, England and New York USA. We saw a need for a website specializing in ‘hard to find’ classic Soul tunes and a TV channel dedicated to broadcasting quality ‘back in the days’ Soul music, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, online and around the world.
We are a collection of Soul music enthusiasts, record collectors, musicians, music producers and independent record labels in the UK and USA. We’re lovers of Soul, Funk and Disco music of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s primarily.
We believe that good music is supposed to INSPIRE, it is supposed to bring joy, happiness, fun and relaxation into the lives of people and make people of all races, colours and creeds feel GOOD!
In our opinion great music should be able to stand the test of time and be as meaningful today as it was when it was originally written and recorded. That’s why we love great classic Soul, R&B, Funk and Disco music to.
Whilst we specialize in oldies (but goodies), we have nothing against most of today’s Artists; in fact we think many of them are flying the Soul and R&B music flag proudly. And we’re in no doubt that many of today’s new millennium Soul and R&B Artists are keeping the quality of today’s Soul music just as high as their predecessors – And that’s GREAT – You’ll see and hear such new Artists right here on Soul Music TV everyday.
However, on the whole 90% of the content on our website is going to be dedicated to classic, quality Soul, R&B, Funk and Disco from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s & 90’s – Sorry NO hard core rap or Hip Hop on RareSoulGrooves.com or Soul Music TV! Another 10% of our content will cover current R&B and Soul music videos and live performances – As long as we believe them to be quality material and destined to become future classics!
We think that the use of technology in today’s music industry is great but we strive to educate, teach and show up-and-coming Artists and musicians the importance of learning to play REAL instruments and the importance of fine tuning their vocal prowess to.
We therefore provide resources and contacts for unsigned Artists and musicians who are serious about their music careers and looking to land record or publishing deals. We also provide resources to help vocalists become even better singers. Our Musical Services section will point you in the right direction if you would like to learn an instrument from scratch, develop as a musician or learn what it takes to succeed in the music business.
We believe that if we listen and learn from the great Soul and R&B singers, musicians, songwriters and music producers of yesteryear, not only will it improve the lives of ordinary Soul music lovers today but as Artists and musicians it can only inspire us to make better and more soulful music to!
That is why we established this website and that’s what RareSoulGrooves.com and Soul Music TV is all about.
