Which do you prefer a great Soul CD or a great live Soul concert and why? Some of us prefer to just chill out at home listening to the oozing sound quality of our favorite Soul CD albums. However, there are many that say until you have witnessed some of our great Soul and R&B singers and bands live - then you really have not heard these great songs to their full potential. So what do you prefer, listening to those lush Soulful recordings at home or the ‘hands in the air’, magical vibes of a live Soul concert?

I like to do both. Watching live concerts makes me feel young and invigorated and it’s terrific seeing the artists I’ve adored over the years. Somehow I feel like I owe it to them and I should show my gratitude by showing up. Listening to the CDs at home is much more relaxing and it takes the daily stress off.

I don’t like huge crowds and I find that the sound quality suffers in a stadium. I’d rather cool down in the privacy of my own entertainment room with a glass of wine. I’d probably attend if it’s a small venue and I’m with my closest friends.

Live concerts for sure! Grooving to music from a CD could never capture the magic. Besides, where else can I go to show them that I still have my moves!

I’m past my prime so I’d leave the concerts to the young ones. My wife and I have both retired and while the spirit is willing, we find it better to relax at home. We even listen to Soul TV while we take turns on the treadmill.

I can boast that my home theater entertainment system is top rated. I don’t have to leave home to enjoy good music. If Elvis Presley was alive though, that would be a different story. I’d be a groupie!

I’ve been a fan of attending concerts of oldies acts whenever they do get to schedule one in my city. I like sharing the magic with everyone else in the audience. I feel like I’m transported back in time.

The two things are as different as coffee and tea - but you gotta have both in your life. Taking my girl out to a gig, smoochin with her to the sounds or going home and putting on a track and smoochin some more!

I am going to stick my neck out and say I’ve started to prefer listening at home to live gigs. But thats just cos we recreate the feel at home! The bass is way up, the sofas are cleared and people are dancing, and I can pick all the best tunes from the internet, my MP3’s, my CD’s and stuff other people have brought to play. The only bit we don’t have is the crowd to get to the exit afterwards and a long trek home. I can fall into bed once I’ve kicked off my dancing shoes.

There is no way you can beat a live gig cos most people dont have the kind of equipment you need. Its not just the quality of sound, its also the atmosphere, ever been to a club where thousands of people are diggin the sound and you turn round and make eye contact with a complete stranger? Now you can’t do that at home!

I like to attend a live concert. There is the music. There I live music.

I like to listen music at home but the atmosphere at a concert is unique and unforgettable.

My butt is stuck firmly on the sofa and Soul Music is hitting the spot. I am not going to no stadium in the cold with overpriced warm beer (how do they do that in winter?) and being frisked by some security guy and having my spare car keys confiscated cos of my keychain to see some stars about as big as ants on a stage further away than the end of my street.

Of course we all like to do both, but if I had to vote I’d say live music can’t be beat cos I met this sweeet guy at a gig the other week, and he was grooving to some great tunes, and before you know it he was smiling at me and we’d become friends. And there is no way that is going to happen at home in your living room. So no matter how sweet the CD sounds, the fact that I am talking to real live people and hearing real live musicians beats that hands down any day.
